I have to admit something. I’ve actually been leaving music and TV shows on for my dog since I got him as a puppy 10 years ago. I always feel terrible leaving him at home when I go out, and so I figured this was a way to help him feel a little less lonely. Usually, for TV it’s some kind of old-time show (he loves that stuff) and for music I’d just throw on a random playlist that Spotify suggested.
The Guild Cinema has a variety of movies to choose from, especially cool musical documentaries like A Band Called Death and Heart of a Dog. If you are a movie aficionado, try this place first before you try the bigger chains. You’ll be surprised at how low key and enjoyable this locally owned theater is! And don’t forget the popcorn seasoning.
Often I find myself using practice to shut my mind off and escape my day-to-day concerns. Playing becomes meditative. And there’s absolutely no way I’m going to stop doing this — it’s part of why I play music. Back off, Ericsson!

One of the first things you need to decide before purchasing a microphone for podcasting is what type of mic you should get: USB or XLR. In most cases, USB microphones have comparable sound quality to their XLR counterparts. The difference is in the way they capture sound.
Flux Bittersweet is a straightforward transient designer that can be used on drums to enhance or dull their attack. To enhance the attack of an instrument, turn the knob towards bitter. To reduce the transients or dull the attack, turn the knob towards the sweet side of the spectrum. This plugin is crucial for getting your drums to sound clear in your mix, whether they’re programmed samples or live recorded drums.
When you give people a chance to sign up for your mailing list, you’re automatically creating a filter for the people who will become your biggest fans and supporters. You can still target passive, part-time fans on social media and elsewhere, but the mailing list will remain a hub for active audiences. Sending out an email once every couple of months will set you apart from other bands and give your audience a sense that they’re connecting with you on a deeper level. So don’t forget to put out a nice looking sign-up sheet at your shows!

There are two main ways to compose a bass line in today’s hip-hop climate. You can choose a more traditional route by writing and recording a bass guitar or synth bass part, or you can go for a super-low, super-sub bass by using trap-style 808-kick bass lines or other sine wave sounds.

While many sitcoms have musical episodes, I think Scrubs might’ve outdone the rest. Primarily, because the musical theme actually fits the plot of the episode. The show, which revolves around the daily lives of people working at a hospital, features a variety of hospital patients with different problems and diseases throughout its nine seasons, and this episode involves a woman who literally hears everything anyone says as if they’re singing it.
“I feel more musically confident because of this course. I really thought it was helpful dissecting a song and learning how it achieved a certain vibe.”
Berg’s wife, Helene, initially worked hard to achieve the completion and premiere of the unfinished opera in 1937. It was performed as an incomplete work by the Zürich Opera in 1937, and people craved more. She initially asked Schoenberg to definitively finalize the work, but he declined. However, she soon became resistant to any lasting completion of the unfinished orchestration, perhaps as a result of a unique harmonic mystery being solved.
“Nonstop”: Talk about restraint, this one only has four notes: just F#, A, D, and then D♭ shows up at 1:26 sounding like a ghost. There might even be a hint of an F# major chord sometimes, but that’s probably just the harmonic overtones of the synth-patch poking through… or a ghost.
Now that you’ve finished recording and your track sounds great, you’ll need to get a file version you can send around. To make a quick mp3 bounce of your song, click on File in the top left corner, then find Share and click on iTunes. Many platforms such as iTunes will compress the file in the process to fit their standards, so be mindful of that.
